9B-Compliant Education Spaces
As an education provider, your premises must be compliant with 9B, which is outlined in the Building Code of Australia (BCA). Also known as ‘Class 9B’, the criteria for this building class are more stringent than other building classes as it allows for a higher volume of occupants per square metre than other buildings.
The reason for this is so that in the event of an emergency, education providers can evacuate all students, teachers, admin staff and visitors from the premises safely and efficiently.
